It is with great pleasure that we announce the Mayor of the City of Mississauga, Hon. Hazel McCallion, has agreed to do the formal ribbon cutting of our business on May 27, 2014 at 11.00 am.
Hon. McCallion is synonymous with the City of Mississauga, having been its Mayor since 1978. Affectionately called “Hurricane Hazel” for her vibrant and outspoken style of no-nonsense politics, she is credited with making this City what it is today. A large metropolis with a diverse multi-cultural population and a solid base for many small, medium, large and multi-national businesses. The City is home to over 10,000 businesses that encompass manufacturing, distribution and business services. In addition, the City also has over 9,000 retail businesses.
One of the longest serving elected leaders in history, she has been voted the second most popular Mayor in the world. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and also a Member of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Besides encouraging business, she has also invested heavily in education. The University of Toronto has a huge Mississauga Campus, as also several other leading educational institutions – more notably the Sheridan College.
We are extremely privileged to have her cut the ribbon to formally launch our business in this City on a grand scale.
